Workshop: Fairytales the Regenerative Economy
How can fairytales help us communicate complex ideas about sustainability and the regenerative economy?
This week, our Executive Director, Meta Pezdir facilitated a workshop on storytelling for students of Fakulteta za dizajn, as part of the event Sustainable Management in Practice: Between Strategy and Communication.
Together, they explored narrative arcs, the hero’s journey and the power of fairytales to make complex ideas simple, relatable and emotionally engaging.
Storytelling Makes a Difference in Regenerative Economy
Communicating regenerative solutions can be challenging. They often require people to invest more time, effort or money, while their benefits are not always immediately visible. Storytelling can help bridge this gap.
During the workshop, students had just 12 minutes to develop creative communication campaigns using fairytales.
One group reimagined Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: when seven dwarfs visited Snow White in her dorm room, there weren't enough chairs. Their solution? Borrow seven chairs from a Library of Things!
A simple story with a powerful message about sharing resources and circular consumption.
Thank you to Veronika Gruden Bole, Petriša and Prof. Dr. Maja Zalaznik for the invitation and for co-creating the event!
