Instant Writer makes creative writing approachable for adults without a writing background. The three-workshop programme provides practical starting points for generating ideas, developing stories and experimenting with poetry.

An interest in writing does not always translate into practice. People may lack confidence, struggle to find ideas or assume that creative writing requires specialist knowledge.

Lilalab designed an experiential programme built around accessible exercises and creative experimentation. Participants could attend the full sequence or join individual workshops.
Delivered three workshops exploring idea generation, short stories and poetry.
Used guided exercises to help participants begin writing.
Created opportunities for sharing work and exchanging responses.

There were 42 participant attendances across the programme, with some people attending multiple sessions.
Participants experimented with different writing forms.
82 % participants reported that program exceeded their expectations.
